If your car is in an accident and damaged, it may still be repairable. A reputable insurance company will arrange to repair it as near as possible to the condition it was in before the loss, or you'll be paid the cost of the repairs.
If it's not economic to repair your car, most insurance companies will either pay you the amount your car was insured for, or they'll pay you market value.
In most cases, if you're only claiming for accidental damage to your car's windscreen, windows, glass in the sun-roof or driving lights, you won't have to pay any excess. Neither will you lose your no claim discount.
